Success is my sweet revenge: Kangana on being labelled whore', psychopath'

While Hrithik Roshan and Adhyayan Suman have gone on record to make accusations against Kangana Ranaut, the actress has finally broken her silence on the entire episode.

In an interview to NDTV, Kangana said that though every attempt is being made to embarrass her, she is not embarrassed and her success is her sweet revenge. She also addressed the allegations that have been hurled at her and the way social media has reacted to this case.

She said, "There are two kinds of people, people pleaser or self-pleaser, and I definitely fall into the category of 'self-pleaser'. I care about my own priorities more than what others' expectations of me are....Sometimes for people to give me my dues, I have to get up on my own and get it."

When asked about the legal battle with Hrithik Roshan, she said, "The thing is that I wouldn’t want to subject people to my personal opinion of my personal equation which has been in my past. Anybody’s personal equation is entirely for them to decide and its up to their perspective how they see it or deal with it. This platform doesn’t allow me to dwell upon my own perception of certain equation. But having said that, I’m a leading lady of Indian cinema today, three times National Award winning actress, I must say this sort of recent turn of events have been alarming for me."

Talking about accusations by Adhyayan Suman, Kangana said, "We are an extremely sexist country.... It doesn't upset me if people call me names and talk about my period blood, just don't call it 'gross'. There is nothing gross about period blood. When we think about periods, that is my ability to reproduce..."

She added, "As far as all the name calling is concerned, we as women have been defending ourselves for way too long... When a woman becomes successful, the first thing she becomes is a dayan then she goes on to become a whore, and when she is crazily successful, she becomes a psychopath. If she is sexually active, she becomes a whore."

Talking about how the last few days have been a roller coaster ride for her and how she has been coping up with the same, Kangana said, "In the last few days, there have been moments when I have been randomly breaking down, and I really feel cornered, and I feel targeted, but then there are cupcakes that you can always fall back on!"

The actress is one woman who has no qualms in speaking her mind. Kangana said, "I cannot pretend to be sorry for things that I am not, and I cannot pretend to be somebody else that I am not."

In another interview to India Today, Kangana spoke about not getting support from Bollywood, she said, "I never expected anybody to stand for me in Bollywood. I have always stood up for myself. Why should anyone stand up for me?"

The actress spoke about witch craft at length, she said, "Imagine in the medieval ages, there was no evidence of how the history of mankind has been affected by witchcraft. But there is significant factual history of how brutality and sadism of mankind have been displayed in the most obscene manner in the name of witch-hunt."

She concluded, "I am a very proud Hindu. The foundation of my personality is laid on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda or Sanatan Dharm or the Gita. And if my religious practices or anybody's religious practices are given any kind of sadistic name, it instills fear about other person's religious practices. Witchcraft is an ancient art, everyone should know about it. What is wrong with witchcraft? Don't we like Harry Potter? I would want my daughter to know about witchcraft."
