Defence ministry wants to see Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary
Mumbai: Leading officials of the defence ministry and the defence forces have their eyebrows raised after viewing the promos for Aiyaary. As a result, they have asked for a screening of the flick.
Sources inform us that the ministry was a bit sceptical about how the armed forces were being portrayed in the film, primarily because the promos talk about corruption in the armed forces.
“The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), through various reports, have time and again pointed out incidents of corruption in the army. And the defence ministry is a bit wary about the way the film will portray them. That’s the reason why the ministry wants to see the film once, to ensure that Aiyaary doesn’t paint everyone black,” says an insider.
Aiyaary, directed by Neeraj Pandey, stars Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles. The movie has already had its fair share of problems, with a delayed release date. Hopefully, with Neeraj at the helm, the team should tide over other issues too.
