Exclusive: Dad is not a materialistic person, says Krishna Shroff
Even as actor Jackie Shroff turned 60 earlier this week, he refused to accept birthday calls from friends and well-wishers, admitting that birthdays are immaterial to him.
“I don’t count the candles. I don’t even cut a cake. I don’t think about how old I am. I think about how young I can be if I do the things I enjoy doing,” said Jackie. For his special day, his two children, Tiger and Krishna Shroff rushed home early from work, to surprise their father.
Says an emotional Krishna, “Dad isn’t a materialistic person at all. So it was not so much about gifts on the day. Tiger and I are currently shooting for Munna Michael, but we made sure we got home in time to be with him.”
The doting daughter has a special wish for her darling dad. “Apart from wishing dad the happiest birthday, I wanted to say that he deserves every day to be his day. He makes everyone he crosses paths with happy, and I definitely want to be able to do the same,” she says.
Gushing over her father, Krishna says, “He’s the best and the original. Nobody comes close. Love you to infinity, daddy!”
