Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas shared some inside photos from the mehendi and sangeet ceremony, held at the Umaid Bhawan palace, Jodphur. dressed in a beautiful multi-colour lehenga Priyanka looked very pretty. Nick was seen dressed in a off-white kurta-pyjama.
The 26-year-old groom also got a mehendi on his hand which has Priyanka’s name written on it. For an actor who hasn’t even visited India previously, Nick set quite a benchmark in romance with the rare sight.
The dulha was also carried on the shoulders of PeeCee’s brother Siddharth, in the typical Indian and filmy style.
“One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi.Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed (sic),” Priyanka and Nick wrote in a joint statement.

As the skies of Jodhpur lit up, many of Priyanka’s fans felt disillusioned as the actor, a self-declared asthmatic, has been a vocal supporter of a zero-crackers smoke-free environment. She is now being called out for her hypocrisy on the issue.
While Priyanka’s environment-conscious colleagues didn’t want to comment on the most important day of her life, off the record one actress commented, “We’re all happy for her Priyanka, but she must remember she’s a public figure. She must stand by what she preaches. There are other ways of expressing happiness than bursting crackers.”
