Mumbai: Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan is all set for its mega release on November 8 in 6000 screens worldwide. Produced by Yash Raj Films' (YRF), this is one of India’s most awaited movies of the year 2018. The film will relesae in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil versions in regular 2D and IMAX format.
In order to encash on the lucrative Diwali release, the ticket prices for the film have been hiked by at least 10 percent higher than those of Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama. The report also suggested that YRF had reportedly asked cinema hall owners across the country to increase the ticket prices for the shows during the four-day extended weekend and subsequently slash the price by 25 percent on weekdays. Cinema halls were asked to confirm the price before opening their advance bookings

With the trailer and mini teasers of songs, the film has so far generated a lot of hype and is being promoted tactfully. The film is also a solo release this Diwali and this will certainly boost the film's earnings.
Film trade analysts are predicting that Thugs of Hindostan will collect Rs 50 crore on Day 1 itself. If all goes according to estimates, then YRF will be looking to break-even on Day 1 itself!
In an interview with PinkVilla, trade analyst Girish Johar said, "The makers are targeting the widest release across all the regions in the country. They are tapping new markets. In India, they are coming right after Diwali which is the biggest Box Office day for India. A film opening on the day, big names and high end ticket prices - so I am sure unheard numbers are going to come out. I am expecting it will be the first film to cross the half century in terms of nett box office. I am still waiting to know whether the film is releasing in the US on 8th or not but Dubai I am sure it will release on Thursday.”

According to a Mint report, YRF is expected to earn around Rs 140 crore from the film's sale of rights alone. It has reported that online streaming giant Amazon Prime Video and Sony Pictures Networks, which already are in a partnership with the YRF, will be buying sales rights of the film for around Rs 70 crore each. This will yield 70 per cent of the film's budget well before its release.
It also said that the YRF may earn around Rs 12 crore from the music rights of the film. As per reports, the film's budget was around Rs 200 crore. Which clearly indicates that profits will not depend on what comes in from the box office alone.
Thugs of Hindostan is expected to be released across a huge number of theaters - over 4500 screens in India and across 1500 overseas screens. The number is bigger than this year's highest grossing film 'Sanju' - which was released across 4000 screens in India, and over 1300 screens overseas.
