MS Dhoni's biopic spins back 2005 memories to Vizagites

Vizagities, of all age groups, after coming out of the theatre, are recalling their memories.

Visakhapatnam: The movie ‘MS Dhoni — The Untold Story’ starts its journey from Ranchi but could not have afforded to give a miss to Vizag as it is here Dhoni scored his maiden century and let the world take notice of him.

In all theatres in the city, people watching the movie, especially cricket buffs, are screaming their lungs out when the movie shows Dhoni’s blistering 148 in the one-day international against Pakistan on April 5, 2005 at Vizag.

Dhoni was out on a duck in his very first game against Bangladesh, but he made his impression in his fifth one-day international in the ODI series versus Pakistan at the port city. His 148 off 123 deliveries had surpassed the earlier record for the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper. Vizagities, of all age groups, after coming out of the theatre, are recalling their memories.

M. Abhishek, a cricket lover remembers, “I had seen the match in 2005. And watching the movie was like revisiting the memories which I would cherish forever. The city of destiny is truly where Dhoni started scripting his golden future.”

“I don’t know why but the movie makes me feel proud for being a resident of the city. While watching the movie, I could recollect the moment sitting in the Vizag cricket stadium and cheering Dhoni,” said Rakesh, another fan of the game. Most of the theatres screening this movie are running houseful, which would continue for the next 4 days.
