Pondicherry inspires Amyra Dastur to promote sustainability
Amyra Dastur’s enviable Pondicherry pictures have been doing the rounds of the Internet. The Prasthanam actress was shooting in the erstwhile French colonial settlement with Mallika Dua, Shweta Tripathi and Sapna Pabbi for Bindass’ original web series – The Trip 2. Despite their tight shoot schedules, the girl gang managed head to Auroville for some down time.
Amyra was extremely inspired by the vibe of the little town, which is self-sustaining and felt that she should do something to give back to the community. “I’ve always believed that staying healthy and fit have to do with keeping your body clean from the inside. Not torturing your stomach with food that’s chemically treated which we all eat today. In Auroville, the food is organic and you can go and see it for yourself. Their products are 100 percent natural, which is why I picked up so many products like the honey serum face cream, pure aloe vera gel and lemon grass mist,” informs the actress.
The actress also managed to get her co-stars hooked on to the organic delicacies in Auroville. “We would order our lunch and dinner from the organic and vegan cafes in Auroville. We found ourselves feeling more energetic and our skin also started looking much, much better. While coming back, I picked so many ingredients to incorporate into my meals after coming back to Mumbai. I’ve already informed all my friends to let me know if they’re ever going to Pondicherry just so that they can bring all these amazing products back for me,” she concludes.
