After many flops, will Tubelight break the jinx of brothers Sohail and Salman Khan?
Mumbai: Salman Khan and Sohail Khan, individually, have tasted tremendous success as actor and director-producer-actor respectively. But whenever the duo featured in a film together, it bombed at the Box Office.
Be it 'Veer', ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’, ‘Heros’ or ‘Main aur Mrs Khanna’, the brothers have always failed to fair at the Box Office. Now, after collaborating on multiple commercially successful projects donning different roles (one of producer or /and director and the other as actor), both the brothers will again share screen space in Kabir Khan’s big banner project ‘Tubelight’.
Their pair has failed to impress audience even when they had featured in cameo roles in each others’ films. Take the example of 2008 released ‘Hello’, a film based on Indian author Chetan Bhagat’s book ‘One Night at the Call Centre’, it had Salman Khan in a cameo but the film was declared a disaster.
The worry is that people have their hopes pinned on ‘Tubelight’, which has been co-produced by Salman Khan’s production house and director Kabir Khan, and if it doesn’t fair well then it will be a major setback for the actor brothers and Salman Khan as well.
But we genuinely hope that this cross-border flick breaks the jinx that's been looming over these two actor brothers and smashes all Box Office records.
‘Tubelight’ releases on Eid, which is June 25.
