Katrina Kaif beats Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra hollow as dancer: Salman Khan
Mumbai: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s equation as lovers in the past may have made the maximum headlines, but their relationship as mentor-protégé, co-stars and most importantly, friends, is what they are actually all about now.
Salman supported Katrina by casting her in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?’ at a time she was reeling under the debacle of ‘Boom’, and then worked with her in ‘Partner’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, both of which were hits at the box office.
The duo is all set to star together again after a gap of five years and the chemistry between them is there for all to see in the stills and songs of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai.’
With less than a month to go for the release, the pair has also shot a steamy photoshoot for a fashion magazine and Salman was all praises for his co-star.
"She knows her limitations and works hard to achieve what she can’t do. When she joined the industry, she couldn’t dance. Today she is one of the best dancers we have. Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, girls who are considered dancers…I think she beats them hollow," Salman told Vogue.
On being one of the most loved couples in Bollywood, he said, "I don't think we consider ourselves exceptionally beautiful or talented. I think we both just see ourselves as normal people who lucked out."
Being a ‘mentor’, Salman might have given the actress advice several times, but he also takes it from Katrina.
He said, "I take advice from her but every time she has advised me on a movie or taken me to watch a movie, it has been a disaster."
The pair now know each other for more than 15 years now, and Salman also recalled their first interaction when she was barely 18.
He revealed, "It was at a small get-together. She had come home for a party and I thought she was one of the sweetest girls ever. She knew my sister and all my friends but she didn't know me.”
Amid the 'Padmavati' row, the industry has pinned a lot of expectations on the pair’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and it would be interesting to see if they can live up to it when the film releases on 22 December.
