Not Tapsee Pannu, Fatima Sana Shaikh signs Anurag Basu's Life In A Metro sequel?

Taapsee had to exit the sequel after facing issues with the dates of her other work commitments.

Mumbai: Director Anurag Basu, who is super excited about a sequel to his 2007 hit film Life in a Metro, is currently busy hunting actors for the multi-starrer urban drama. There are rumours that stars like Rajkummar Rao, Parineeti Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Ishaan Khatter, among others, have already been locked for the film. And now according to Bollywood Hungama report, 'Thugs Of Hindostan' star Fatima Sana Shaikh has replaced Taapsee Pannu for playing a pivotal role in the film.

If the report is to be believed, the reason for replacement is unavailability of dates on Taapsee’s part. With films Badla, Womaniya and Tadka already in the pipeline, the actress has no time to accommodate one more project and therefore, she had decided to let go of the film. Fatima, who is looking forward to the release of Thugs of Hindostan, has now been finalised for the same part.

“Dates were a major conflict and that is the reason why Anurag Basu had to look out for different option for the lead. And lucky for him, he had already spoken to Fatima in the past. So, when dates did become an issue, it was an easy fix for him this time around,” a source has been quoted as saying in the report.

The sequel to Life in a Metro is expected to go on the floors by the end of the year.
