Super 30: Pankaj Tripathi to play antagonist in Hrithik Roshan film
Mumbai: The very talented Pankaj Tripathi will play the main antagonist in Super 30, the biopic on the famous Bihari mathematician, Anand Kumar. Hrithik Roshan, who will be essaying the lead role, will be spending a lot of time with Pankaj, who has a natural flair for cow-belt dialects.
A source says, “Pankaj is very naturally a North Indian bloke. Although he is from Uttar Pradesh, he doesn’t have to make much effort to sound like a Bihari. In fact, many in the Super 30 team had thought Pankaj was perfect to play Anand. They resemble in body and speech. But the director Vikas Behl wanted a superstar for Anand’s role, to bring the audiences in. It’s a motivational story of a maths genius, from a humble background, who coaches underprivileged but brilliant maths students, free of cost.”
Pankaj, who has had an amazing 2017, with much-lauded performances in Newton, and Bareilly Ki Barfi and Gurgaon, says he is happy to be part of the film. He says, “Every character is equally important to me. It doesn’t matter if I play the hero or villain. I will look for the core of the character, and play it as honestly as I can.”
