Salman Khan checks on Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Jaipur incident

When the violence against Bhansali erupted in Jaipur on Friday afternoon, former best friends Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were both in Rajasthan and Khan was quick to reach out to Bhansali.

One of the first calls received by Bhansali after the incident was from Salman.

After all, the two were Bollywood’s best buddies during the making of Bhansali’s Khamoshi: The Musical and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Later, they had a falling out when Bhansali signed Shah Rukh Khan for Devdas. Turns out it isn’t just Shah Rukh who is a possessive friend: When Karan Johar chose to work with other leading men SRK was apparently “hurt”.

Lately, there have been signs of the two getting back to being friends again. A source close to both reveals, “Salman immediately called up Sanjay after the ugly incident in Jaipur on Friday to ask if he was okay. The gesture sure meant a lot to the old friend.”
