The last year has been a roller coaster ride for Bollywood which saw a slate of sleeper hits, out of the box content-driven films and also interesting pairings on screen. As we embark on 2019, here’s a look at the fresh onscreen pairs of this year

Rajkummar Rao and Sonam Kapoor Film: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Lagan

While one is a champion of method acting, the other is a fashionista. Last year Sonam starred in the surprise hit Veere di Wedding while Rajkummar Rao essayed characters ranging from a ladies tailor to a dreaded terrorist. It will be interesting to see how these two actors team up in the upcoming comedy-drama Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.

Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy Film: Made in China
The Stree actor has mostly been paired with relatively new actresses in the showbiz and will be seen next opposite Mouni Roy. The actress who started her career from television, debuted opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold and will be next seen with Rajkummar Rao in Made in China. The film’s plot revolves around a Gujarati businessman, who jumps into the unknown world of China to get a once-in-a-lifetime business idea, which changes his life. It would be great to see how Mouni would do justice to her role opposite to an actor who excels in portraying every character he essays.

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon Film: Luka Chuppi
This chocolate boy has wooed everyone with his performance in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu ke Titu Ki Sweety. The actor now will be paired with Raabta actress Kriti Sanon in Luka Chuppi where Kartik will be playing a local TV reporter and Kriti will be seen playing a strong headed girl from Mathura.

For the first time, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be sharing screen space with Athiya Shetty in the film Motichoor Chaknachoor. How this unlikely jodi complement each other onscreen with their roles in the film remains to be seen.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor Film: Chhichhore
Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor will be seen on big screen for the first time with their upcoming comedy film Chhichhore. Shraddha was last seen in Stree, which earned her a huge success on box office. The quirky poster of the film Chhichhore presents the actors in their older and younger versions and has already upped the audience’s expectation

Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar Film: Sonchiriya
n Both the actors have sailing high ever since their debuts. While Sushant Singh Rajput’s Kedarnath has a done good business at the box-office, Bhumi’s last film was Lust Stories. Sonchiriya promises to be a bold intriguing dacoit drama by Udta Punjab director Abhishek Chaubey. The film also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana.

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani Film: Kabir Singh

The film brings Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani on screen as a couple for the first time. While Shahid needs no introduction, Kiara has won fans with her films such as M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Lust Stories. The original film, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead, revolved around a medical student who falls in love with his junior and how their relationship evolves.
