Alia Bhatt is on a roll!
Alia Bhatt continues her successful run at the box office. Her film, Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi has earned approximately Rs 38 crore over the weekend, making it Alia’s seventh hit and potentially one of the most successful films of 2016.
From the time she made her debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012, Alia’s career has been on the upswing. Today, her success among her contemporaries is unparalleled.
Says a leading trade expert, “Alia’s contemporaries have been left far behind. She has almost a cent-percent success ratio with all her films and is definitely on the way to becoming the next top female star after Deepika Padukone.”
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who has watched Alia grow as an individual and an actress, is all praise for her. “I am so proud of Alia. She was three when it was evident that she would be an actor. When I first saw the stills of Student of the Year, I told her mother Soni Razdan that Alia projects an interesting mix of confidence and vulnerability that will take her far. But her emotional depth at 23 is astonishing. Whether it is Kapoor And Sons, Highway or Udta Punjab, she plays all her characters with such conviction. She’s just wow in Dear Zindagi!”
