SRK bets on gen-next
Even as the actor–producer launched a film under his banner with Vikrant Massey, Sanya Malhotra and Bobby Deol on Thursday, in the coming weeks, he is also set to get going with the young turks such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan and Rajkummar Rao.
A trade source clarifies that while Shah Rukh will not be acting in any of these films, the films will be produced by his film company, Red Chillies. “While he has Bob Biswas with Abhishek and another film on the Muzaffarpur sex scandal, which had earlier cast Arjun Kapoor, he is set to make a film called Freddy with Kartik and two other projects with Ayushmann and Rajkummar,” says the source, adding that the scripts have been locked and the announcements will be made every week.
While Shah Rukh has been busy with his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, we hear he’s set to start shooting for his film Pathan first, after which he will begin working on Atlee, complete it and then move on to Hirani’s film, which has gone for some script changes.
Shah Rukh Khan fans are planning to celebrate his birthday on November 2 virtually. The actor had clearly specified to his fans in an #ASKSRK session recently telling them not to assemble outside his bungalow and risk the spread of the Covid infection. “Please I recommend nobody should collect in crowds. My birthday or wherever! Iss baar ka pyaar...thodha door se yaar,” Khan had said. So the SRKChennaiFC – the biggest SRK followed fan club – is planning a big do, today watching the KKR match and then following it up with a celebration which starts at midnight. “Only one member from our club will be outside SRK’s house Mannat and will stream Mannat visuals for the fans. We are also streaming the SRK movie Fan for us fans which will be through an app. In Chennai we are creating a larger than life size banner of SRK at the Mannat fence and taking selfies during the day. The Indore branch of our club will also have a special screening of Chennai Express. We are also launching a telegram channel where fans across the world can share their celebrations and we will pick and share the best ones with SRK on the Twitter handle,” says Sudhir Kothari, founder of the club which is also donating a few PPE kits to the Meer Foundation run by SRK.
