Mumbai: When Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif called off their six-year long relationship, their fans were shocked and heartbroken. As people not only loved their on-screen chemistry but also loved their off-screen romance. Just when everyone was assuming that the lovers, who were live-in together, were about to tie the knot, it all ended.
Though the two went their separate ways, they managed to keep things professional while shooting for their film ‘Jagga Jasoos’. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor surprised everyone when he broke his silence on his relationship with Katrina, by calling her ‘most influential and motivational entity in his life’, during an interview.
His one statement made headlines for days as more details about Ranbir and Katrina’s relationship started to pour in. Now, while talking to a magazine, Ranbir was asked about his failed relationship with ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ actress, to which the actor said that he can’t indulge deeper as nobody will understand it and he doesn’t want to sell it.
“Katrina, after my parents, has been the most inspiring and motivating factor in my life. Period. That is too dear to me and there is no explanation, there is nothing I can tell you about it. Nobody will understand it. And I don't want to sell it,” Ranbir was quoted saying.
However, the actor did reveal that it was while shooting for ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ that he fell in love with his co-star Katrina Kaif. “It had simple storytelling, it had heart, and I also fell in love during that film with Katrina,” Ranbir revealed.
After Ranbir first addressed their relationship in media, Katrina broke her silence as well. After returning back from her Dream Team Tour, Katrina was giving an interview about her film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ when she was asked how she got up and continued with her routine with a brave face after the break-up with Ranbir, to which she replied, “You know what I think, its something that came to me many times, if I was a person who did not have a luxury.. see I do think being an actor is quite a luxurious job, we have staff and we are treated specially, to be fair. But if I worked in say, an office or if I had a normal job, you are still going to go to work. You are still going to be required to do your job."
Sidharth Malhotra, who was sitting beside Katrina during the interview, said that it would be different for a celebrity, Katrina smiled and said, “But you are still feeling it in your heart, right? Every human still feels the same. Your emotions are still the same.”
“You can have your moments where you cannot be any lower and things cannot be tougher but I take it as a challenge, and that's what you have to do. You know, in some way all the attention is a good thing. It forces you to step up. It forces you to not indulge in self pity and feeling sorry for yourself. It forces you to get yourself together and stand up quicker because you want to show your best face to the world,” the actress concluded.
