The reason behind Shah Rukh not invited by The Academy revealed!
Mumbai: Bollywood has always been an integral part of the global film fraternity and now our actors and actresses receiving invitation to be members of the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences only proves that our film industry has left a last impression on Hollywood.
According to a recent report in Variety, top Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and a few others have been invited to be members of the Oscars organisation.
Other than the aforementioned A-Listers, Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have also been invited to be a part of the esteemed organisation.
However, what took everyone by surprise is that The Academy Awards missed out on Shah Rukh Khan, who is a globally recognised superstar, and has achieved enough in the film industry, which has proved his worth.
Despite a record of 774 invitations sent out by the Oscars organisation, the fans were upset for not extending an invitation to the king of Bollywood.
Fans on Twitter, especially, are arguing that if Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone can be invited then why not Shah Rukh Khan, who boasts of an illustrious career
To which The Academy issued a statement clarifying the reason for not inviting SRK.
The statement reads, “The basic requirement is that a candidate must have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of theatrical motion pictures.”
Shah Rukh Khan, recently gave an inspiring and motivational speech at the Ted Talk, which neither Khans nor any Bollywood actors have ever done.
