I'd love to do a south film: Ishita Sharma

Ishita Sharma says that the south Indian film industry is happening .

Ishita Sharma is still riding high on the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, in which she played the role of Pihu. The actress, who was in the city recently, said that she would love to do a south Indian film.

“This is the first time I have come to Hyderabad and it’s a beautiful city. I want to explore its rich heritage, but unfortunately I have a packed schedule,” she said.
When asked if she watched Tollywood or any other south Indian movies, she said, “I don’t follow them much, but I love working in the south. It’s a happening industry. Several Bollywood films have been adapted from south Indian films. The scripts are realistic and the audiences are welcoming — I’d love to do a film here.”

The actress took a three-year break after her appearance in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, but she doesn’t regret it. “There was a gap because I did not come across an exciting script. I don’t mind being choosy and waiting for the right script, rather than signing a project and just being eye candy. I’m humbled by the love that’s being showered on me; it has made me more responsible,” she said.

Luckily, she won’t be taking another extended break soon. Ishita has signed a new film that will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. “It’s a war-based drama. I was excited when I had the narration. The shooting will begin soon,” she said.
