Women-centric films are the trend in Bollywood, Pink, Akira and Naam Shabana among others being the examples. Now, two other films that have joined the league are Sridevi’s Mom and Raveena Tandon’s Maatr.
These films deal with the issue of rape. Sources also suggest that their plots are quite similar.
A close source reveals, “Since the plots are similar, the makers of Mom have planned a different promotional strategy for the film.”
Raveena Tandon, however, has squashed talks of similarities. Mom stars Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles.
