After Hichki, will Rani Mukerji star in Mardaani 2? Actress reveals the answer

Actress Rani Mukerji’s last film before her sabbatical — Mardaani — left a strong impact at the box office. Ever since, there have been reports about a sequel to the 2014 film floating around.

However, for Rani to take up the offer it has to be an enticing one. “I can’t do Mardaani 2 just for the heck of it. It has to make sense to me. So, if we get an equally powerful subject to deal with then I will definitely do Mardaani 2,” she said, adding, “We are still looking for a good script — it is important for me to have a convincing script.”

Released in 2014, Mardaani was a crime thriller film based on human-trafficking in India. Meanwhile, the actress who is currently promoting her film Hichki seems to be extremely affected by Sridevi’s untimely demise. She says, “It’s sad. I am personally very affected because of this news because I was very close to her. It was extremely tragic news.”
