Barbarik Movie Review:Suspenseful drama
Tribanadhari Barbarik is a Telugu suspense thriller film that draws inspiration from the character of Barbarik from the Mahabharata

Tribanadhari Barbarik is a Telugu suspense thriller film that draws inspiration from the character of Barbarik from the Mahabharata. Directed by Mohan Srivatsa, the movie stars Sathyaraj in the lead role, alongside Vasishta N. Simha and others.
Story:
The story revolves around a psychiatrist named Dr. Shyam Khatu (played by Sathyaraj). When his beloved granddaughter Nidhi goes missing, he is shaken. The film follows his investigation, as he teams up with a young man named Ram and a police constable, Satya.
As they search for Nidhi, the plot takes unexpected turns, revealing a web of relationships and motives. The film also features a parallel storyline involving two childhood friends, Ram and Dev, and how their desperate actions for quick money lead them down a dangerous path.
Performances:
Sathyaraj, known for his grey-shaded characters as well as vulnerable ones over the decades, makes his character feel fresh. His scenes with his onscreen granddaughter are not overly dramatic.
Vassishta Simha and Kranthi Kiran are seen as partners in crime. Their desperate acts make them questionable characters. VTV Ganesh, Motta Rajendran, and Karthikeya Dev of Salaar fame are cast well. The first two of these characters are there to lighten the mood. Meghana plays the teen victim of abduction.
Udaya Bhanu plays a lady don without overdoing the tough exterior part. Satyam Rajesh plays a supportive constable whose character is not a pushover.
Technical Departments:
Kudos to Kushender Reddy and Mohan Srivatsa for their stellar contributions to this film. Reddy's cinematography shines, especially in the moody night and rain scenes, lending the movie a raw vibe. The background score by Infusion packs a powerful punch.Vijaypal Reddy Adidhala has bankrolled the movie under the Vanara Celluloid banner with the aim to tell an inspired tale with a contemporary edge.
Merits:
The introduction of the Barbarik mythology sets the tone at the very outset.
The abduction drama is fairly suspenseful.
The emotional aspect is not watered down in the name of focus on the crime story.
Demerits:
The investigation track could have been more gripping.
Verdict:
Tribanadhari Barbarik is impressive, overall. The screenplay is fairly suspenseful.
