Balakrishna Undergoes Knee Surgery For Three Hours at AIG Hospitals
The hospital said Balakrishna is stable and remains under close post-operative observation

HYDERABAD: Actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna underwent a successful knee surgery at AIG Hospitals on Thursday.
According to the hospital, Balakrishna had suffered a tear of the left quadriceps tendon, the tissue connecting the thigh muscle to the kneecap, along with tears in the supporting structures around the knee. A multidisciplinary team performed a three-hour long surgery to reattach the tendon, repair the damaged tissues and reinforce the reconstruction for proper healing.
“We planned a strong and secure repair and each damaged structure was carefully reconstructed. Our focus now is on protecting the repair and guiding him through a gradual, structured rehabilitation programme,” said Dr Gowtham Chowdary, senior orthopaedic surgeon at AIG Hospitals. The hospital said Balakrishna is stable and remains under close post-operative observation.
