BAIDA Teaser Unveiled: Sudhanshu Rai’s Dark Sci-Fi Thriller

Directed by Puneet Sharma, the teaser for BAIDA captivates audiences with its unique blend of sci-fi, ancient beliefs, and mysterious worlds

The highly anticipated teaser of BAIDA, a sci-fi supernatural thriller directed by Puneet Sharma and produced by Sudhanshu Rai, has finally dropped and is creating waves across the Internet. This adrenaline-pumping teaser blends sci-fi elements with ancient Indian beliefs and has already earned widespread praise for its unique concept.

The 1-minute-42-second teaser opens with a haunting shloka from the Bhagavad Gita – Nainaṃ chindanti śastrāṇi nainaṃ dahati pāvakaḥ, na chainaṃ kledayantyāpo na śoṣayati mārutaḥ – meaning that the soul is immortal. The protagonist, played by Sudhanshu Rai himself, embarks on a dark and dangerous journey into a world where mystery and danger lurk at every corner. He faces off against a sinister force, traveling through various realms and dimensions, seeking survival.

The teaser’s visuals are equally gripping, introducing a forest shrouded in fog, prisoners shackled by British sepoys, and huts that seem to defy the laws of nature. These elements hint at an eerie, supernatural world that promises a captivating cinematic experience. The character of Doctor Shekhawat, portrayed by Tarun Khanna, also makes his on-screen debut, adding a layer of intrigue for fans of Sudhanshu's creation in modern contemporary fiction.

The film also stars Hiten Tejwani, Sourabh Raaj Jain, Shobhit Sujay, and Manisha Rai, all of whom will be seen in roles unlike anything they've done before. The teaser has quickly caught the attention of netizens, with fans comparing its vibe to Stranger Things, Dark, and even the film Tumbadd. Many praised the music, calling it "hooking," and the visuals, which captured their attention from the first frame.

Reacting to the viral teaser, director Puneet Sharma shared his excitement: "BAIDA brings a unique story with strong characters, and we believe it will resonate with audiences looking for an out-of-the-box experience. We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to the teaser and look forward to presenting BAIDA in cinemas on March 21."

The film’s production took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur and Delhi, contributing to its authentic setting in India’s Hindi Heartland. Edited by Pratheek Shetty, known for his work on Kantara, BAIDA promises powerful performances and an unforgettable cinematic journey. Distributed by Panorama Studios, the film is already one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
