‘Avengers: Doomsday’ to Release in India on December 17, a Day Before US
Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans send Diwali wishes to Indian fans as Marvel Studios announces an early India release in four languages.
Marvel Studios has announced an early theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday in India, with the much-anticipated superhero film set to hit cinemas on December 17, 2026, a day before its scheduled release in the United States. Adding to the festive excitement, Hollywood actors Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have sent special Diwali wishes to Indian fans through an exclusive video message released by Marvel India.
Downey Jr., who plays Doctor Doom, and Evans, who returns as Steve Rogers, greeted Indian audiences with “Namaste India” and extended their Diwali wishes, teasing the upcoming cinematic spectacle. “What we love about Diwali is it marks the closing of one chapter and beginning of another… that’s something we know a lot about, except instead of moving from dark to light, I think it might be going in the other direction,” the actors said in the video message.
They concluded by wishing fans a happy Diwali and promising to see them in Avengers: Doomsday. The film will release in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, offering audiences across the country an opportunity to watch the Marvel superhero adventure ahead of its US release.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film brings together heroes from three distinct universes who face an existential threat unlike anything they have encountered before. The project is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz.

Marvel India said the early release and the stars’ festive greetings were intended to add to the anticipation surrounding the film, which is among the most awaited Hollywood releases of the year. Avengers: Doomsday will arrive in theatres on December 17, 2026, in Marvel Studios’ Infinity Vision and other premium formats.
