Bollywood star kid Aryan Khan has marked a significant milestone in his shoot career by winning his first award but he chose to dedicate it to his mother rather than his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan.
Aryan was honoured with the Best Debutant Director of the Year for his Netflix directorial debut at one of the India's leading broadcast TV News Channel, The Ba*ds of Bollywood. While accepting the trophy, he acknowledged that, “just like my dad, I love awards,” in a light-hearted reference to Shah Rukh Khan’s well-known affection for accolades.
He explained that this award wasn’t for Shah Rukh but was instead dedicated to Gauri Khan, crediting her guidance and influence on his professional journey. During his speech, Aryan thanked his cast, crew and Netflix for believing in a first-time director and spoke affectionately about his mother’s encouragement and life lessons, such as being kind and well-behaved.
The young filmmaker was accompanied at the ceremony by his grandmother, Savita Chhibber, who was visibly moved during his speech. The Ba*ds of Bollywood, a sarcastic take on the Hindi film world has already garnered praise and was recently named one of IMDb’s Most Popular Indian Series of 2025.
