Alia’s Alpha Continues to Face Challenges

This reassessment carries added significance as Alpha marks YRF’s first foray into a female-led chapter of its spy universe, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh.

While YRF had earlier issued a statement explaining that the film’s release was pushed from December 2025 to April 2026 due to extensive work on VFX and pre-production, sources indicate that internal concerns persist. “There are several tweaks being made. The landscape — and the market — have changed considerably,” says an industry source. “Audiences today are gravitating towards raw, grounded, and rustic storytelling, as seen with Dhurandhar. Large-scale, VFX-heavy spectacles don’t automatically resonate anymore.”

This reassessment carries added significance as Alpha marks YRF’s first foray into a female-led chapter of its spy universe, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. With expectations riding high on the studio’s expansion of the franchise, the makers are said to be taking a cautious, market-aware approach before locking the final version.
