Alia Bhatt's Ex Assistant Arrested On Suspicion Of Fraud
She allegedly created fake invoices for expenses such as travel and meetings, forged Alia’s signature, and routed the money through a friend’s bank account.
Vedika Prakash Shetty, a former personal assistant of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding her of approximately Rs 76.9 lakh (around $92,000 USD). Shetty, who worked as Alia’s secretary from 2021 to 2024, is accused of embezzling funds from Alia’s personal accounts and her production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd., over a period of two years (May 2022 to August 2024).
She allegedly created fake invoices for expenses such as travel and meetings, forged Alia’s signature, and routed the money through a friend’s bank account. The fraud came to light after a complaint was filed by Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, with the Juhu Police in Mumbai on January 23, 2025. Shetty, who had been evading authorities by changing locations, was arrested in Bengaluru and remanded to police custody until July 10, 2025.
