Akshay Kumar Declines ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunnam’ Hindi Remake?

Industry insiders reveal that Akshay watched Sankranthiki Vasthunnam long ago, not with the intention of remaking it, but simply because he has always admired Venkatesh’s films.

For long, rumours have been rife about a Hindi remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam with Akshay Kumar in the lead, to be produced by Dil Raju and directed by Anees Bazmee. However, the latest reports confirm that Akshay is not part of the project.

A source close to the development shares, “Akshay has multiple films lined up, including Haiwaan, Bhagam Bhaag 2, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3, along with a couple of other projects that are being kept under wraps. He had seen the Venkatesh film a while back as a cinema lover, but he’s not doing the Hindi remake. In fact, he has been meeting Anees Bazmee for another collaboration.”

With Akshay stepping away from the remake, it remains to be seen which Bollywood star will take up the mantle if the project moves forward.
