Reigning star Allu Arjun, riding high on the success of the Pushpa franchise, is further expanding his pan-India footprint with an upcoming big-budget film directed by Atlee. Even as plans for Pushpa 3 are reportedly taking shape after the blockbuster Pushpa 2, fresh buzz suggests that Allu Arjun’s Atlee-directed project—initially conceived as a single film—may now be split into two parts. An official announcement is expected soon.
The film, being produced by Sun Pictures on a staggering budget of around ₹800 crore, features Deepika Padukone as the female lead, with Mrunal Thakur playing a key role. Mounted on an epic scale with top Hollywood VFX teams on board, the project is among the most ambitious Indian films in production. A major portion of the shoot has already been completed in Mumbai, and the makers are reportedly targeting an April 2026 release for Part 1.
Sources say the decision to split the film into two parts stems from the expansive nature of the story. Allu Arjun will be seen playing a superhero, and a high-impact promo has already generated considerable buzz among fans. Expectations are high from Atlee, especially after his blockbuster success with Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan.
In the current cinematic landscape, where scale and budgets often determine franchise potential, dividing large-scale projects into multiple parts has become a strategic move. With soaring production costs and OTT deals no longer as lucrative as before, a two-part release helps mitigate financial risk. If Part 1 meets expectations, Part 2 could significantly boost overall returns.
While the title remains under wraps for now, the film—tentatively referred to as AA22xA6—is shaping up to be a high-voltage cinematic ride.
