Born to veteran actor P. J. Sharma, Sai Kumar inherited a passion for cinema but built his own identity through hard work and extraordinary talent. Born on July 27, 1961, he recently completed an incredible 50-year journey in the film industry, a testament to his dedication, versatility, and enduring popularity.
Sai Kumar began his career as a dubbing artist, lending his unforgettable voice to several leading actors and important characters. His first dubbing assignment was for the film Samsaram. He later made his acting debut as a child artist in Devudu Chesina Pelli.
Although he established himself in Telugu cinema, it was the Kannada blockbuster Police Story that turned him into a superstar. When the film was dubbed into Telugu, it became a sensational hit, further cementing his status as one of the industry's most sought-after actors.
Today, Sai Kumar is enjoying a remarkable second innings, proving that age is no barrier to excellence. He is currently part of an exciting slate of films, including Ravi Teja's Irumudi, Dharmasthala Niyojakavargam, Sambarala Yetigattu, Nagarjuna's milestone 100th film, Vedavyas, a film directed by Kiran Abbavaram, Emo Emo Idi, a Vishwak Sen project, Lungi Man, the Nithiin–Nani film, Full Bottle, Bari, Kurmavataram, and Sai Baba. He is also playing key roles in Moodu Lantharlu, starring Aishwarya Rajesh, and the web series Kanyasulkam.
His Kannada lineup is equally impressive, with significant roles in Bail starring Shivarajkumar, Satya: Son of Harishchandra, and Billa Ranga Baasha alongside Kichcha Sudeep.
