We have drawn up a long list of top Hollywood actors, who have not yet won an Academy Award, and others who still await their well-deserved Oscar nomination.- Emily Blunt also happens to serve the same fate in the Best Actress category. The star, who has gone on to become one of the most respected stars in the business, has managed to bag four Golden Globe nominations, but has always fallen short for an Oscar nod.
- While actor George Clooney has bagged a fist full of Oscar nominations over the long span of his Hollywood career, fellow actor Richard Gere can't say the same. Richard hasn't been as lucky at the Oscars as he has been at the Golden Globes, with four nominations and one win.
- Funnyman Jim Carrey, who hasn't been seen on the big screen in a very long time, has still not earned an Oscar nomination for all his humourous roles in past.
- Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise, known for his roles in the spy drama 'Mission: Impossible', has been nominated three times, but has never won an Oscar.
- Joining Johnny on this list is his partner in crime Helena Bonham Carter. Known for her spectacular performances, quirky outfits and hair raising makeup, Helena has been nominated twice, but has never won an award.
- Man of many faces, Johnny Deep has delivered some of the most iconic performances and brought so many lovable characters to life, but he has yet to strike gold at the Oscars. Depp has been nominated three times for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Neverland and Sweeney Todd.
- He is currently the highest paid actor in the business, but Robert Downey Jr. has not yet won an Oscar. He was nominated in the Best Actor category for his role in 'Chaplin', and again in 2009 for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Tropic Thunder'.
- Actor Will Smith lost out on an Oscar nomination this year #OscarsSoWhite, for his role in 'Concussion'. Although a household name and a box office favourite, Will has not yet walked away with the golden statue. He was nominated twice for his roles in 'Ali' and 'Pursuit of Happyness'.
- While Leonardo has had Academy Award nominations to his names, there are a a bunch of great Hollywood actors, who haven't even been given that recognition. Late actor Alan Rickman, who played some of the most iconic villains, passed away last month without a single Oscar nomination to his name.
- Leonardo DiCaprio has earned his fifth Best Actor award nomination for his performance as Hugh Glass in The Revenant'. Although he is up against some stiff competition from Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender and Eddie Redmayne, fans and online polls suggest that the actor might just pick up his first trophy. However, going by Leo's track record at the Oscars, it is anybody's game.
