Kesri Khambatta's 'The Village Of Pointless Conversation' has been based on the 2014 film 'Finding Fanny'.
'Finding Fanny' that was directed by Homi, starred Naseerudin Shah, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in leading roles.
“Kersi wrote in the style of a novel, meandering through the minds of the characters and helping me set scenes with evocative word pictures. His writing evoked such brilliant imagery that it was a joy for me as a filmmaker to sink my teeth into it when converting it into a screenplay,” Homi said about the author.
During the shoot of 'Finding Fanny', Homi would narrate a scene to Kersi after sketching out the story, and he would send it back fleshed out as a chapter.
By the time Homi finished his screenplay, Kersi was sitting on a manuscript and asked for his permission to publish it as a book.
At the book launch, Twinkle went on to read her favourite verse from the book.
