7,000 Nellore Government School Students To Get Free Bicycles
Nellore’s free bicycle initiative aims to make commuting to school easier for students from 15 urban and eight rural government high schools.

Around 7,000 students studying in classes VIII, IX and X in government schools across Nellore city and rural areas will receive free bicycles at a mega distribution programme scheduled for July 14. Announcing the initiative, Nellore deputy mayor Roop Kumar Yadav said that the distribution will cover students from 23 government high schools—15 in Nellore city and eight in the rural constituency. According to the deputy mayor, the bicycles have been specially designed for boys and girls and will be distributed at a public function at 4 pm on July 14. Roop Kumar Yadav said the initiative is intended to reduce transportation difficulties and encourage students to continue their education. He also highlighted recent efforts to upgrade government educational institutions in Nellore, including the modernisation of VR High School, DSR Girls High School, and the upcoming Abdul Kalam International School.
