Karnataka University Reschedules Exams to October 3

MANGALURU: In light of a statewide bandh call given by various groups in Karnataka to protest the release of Kaveri water to Tamil Nadu on September 29, the Karnataka University in Dharwad has rescheduled the exams for the undergraduate courses to October 3.

The decision has been taken to avoid any potential inconvenience to the students.

While schools, colleges, and government offices will operate as usual across Dharwad district on September 29, Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde assured citizens that essential services, including transportation and medical supplies, will continue without disruption.

To ensure public safety, police teams led by the Police Commissioner and Superintendent of Police have been deployed in both urban and rural areas.

Protesters have been urged to express their grievances peacefully, without causing inconvenience to the public. They have affirmed their commitment to a peaceful demonstration.

Meanwhile the Ballari District Superintendent of Police told protesters that they would be held accountable for any damage to public property resulting from the bundh or protest.
