Science fairs help bring out students’ creativity: RDO

The RDO said conducting such huge science fairs in government colleges would have a great positive impact on rural students

WARANGAL: Science fairs not only help to extract creative skills among the students but also helps them improve their thinking ability, said Revenue Divisional Officer Vinod Kumar after inaugurating the science fair organised by the students of government junior college on the college premises in Metpally of Jagtial district on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Kumar said that conducting such huge science fairs in government colleges would have a great positive impact on rural students and drive the parents to encourage them to explore their passions and interests in science, art, music, sports or others, which would, in turn, foster their creativity.

College principal R. Venkateshwar Rao said that about 170 exhibits were presented by the students at the science fair which attracted scores of students from the surrounding villages. The exhibits were not only thought-provoking but also showcased the abilities of the students and what they can do if they are provided with quality education and proper guidance, he said.

The RDO advised parents not to get lured by the mere outer appearance of private colleges and waste their money on their children’s education unnecessarily.

After completing S.S.C., he suggested the students take admission to government colleges which are providing high-standard education on par with corporate institutions.

District Nodal Officer B. Narayana, DSP Ravinder Reddy, principal association president Ramesh Babu, municipal vice chairman B. Chandrasekhar Rao, MPP M. Saireddy, junior lecturers association president K. Venu, vice-president K. Gangadhar were present.
