Jagan starts Jagananna Aanimutyalu for students in AP

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has started a new programme called Jagananna Aanimutyalu (State Brilliance Awards) under which students of government schools and junior colleges will be given cash prizes, certificates and felicitations and their parents will be felicitated.

The Aanimutyalu awards will be presented to 1,246 students of SSC and 1,586 students of Intermediate at a state-level function to be held in Vijayawada on May 31.

In this regard, principal secretary (school education) Praveen Prakash has issued GO 44 titled Jagananna Aanimutyalu (State Brilliance Awards) – Felicitation Programme. These awards will be given to top three meritorious students, who have secured the highest marks in SSC public examinations held in April 2023 from schools under different government managements.

The awards will also be given to junior college students who have secured top marks in each group of MPC, BiPC, HEC and CEC / MEC in Intermediate public examinations held in March 2023 and have studied in colleges under different government managements.

Incidentally, Jagan Mohan Reddy has said, “Education is the top weapon. Hence our government's focus is mainly on education. Education is the only asset that we pass on to future generations. Students with good education can become top-notch professionals. My government is ready to extend the required financial support to any number of students in each and every family, as the government considers expenditure on education as an investment in future.”

Praveen Prakash said students at each constituency level will be selected for Jagananna Aanimutyalu awards on May 25. The same exercise will be done at the district level on May 27 at each district headquarters’ level. The CM will present awards to toppers in Vijayawada on May 31.

Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana has hailed Jagananna Aanimutyalu as an unprecedented decision in the country. He maintained that Andhra Pradesh is the only state, which has brought revolutionary reforms in the government education sector. It is now honouring students in the name of Jagananna Aanimutyalu.
