Hyderabad: The Osmania University on Wednesday assured the Telangana High Court that it will implement the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservations in admissions.
A petition was filed by a student from Chintal N. Uma complaining about the varsity’s inaction in implementing the EWS quota in the PhD entrance test-2022.
The university had issued a brochure for the PhD entrance test 2022, stating that admissions were subject to the rules and regulations of the state government’s reservation policy. However, it violated G.O.Ms.No.244 (24.08.2021) pertaining to EWS reservations in admissions into educational institutions.
Gadipally Malla Reddy, counsel for the petitioner said that because of this blunder his client would be deprived of the seat. OU counsel submitted that the university will follow the GO regarding EWS reservations.
