86-year-old government college in AP gets NAAC A' grade

VIJAYAWADA: The Sri Rajah Rangaiahappa Rao and Chunduru Venkata Reddy (SRR & CVR) Government Degree College, autonomous, the oldest government college in Vijayawada, has been awarded the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) ‘A’ grade.

The college was established in 1937 and had a NAAC ‘B’ grade. It has now been accredited with a CGPA of 3.03 on a seven-point scale at ‘A’ Grade, which is valid for five years.

The NAAC peer team visited the college in July and inspected the outcome of the college. After the assessment and accreditation exercises, the institution has been approved by the standing committee constituted by the executive committee to examine the peer team reports. After that, the NAAC declared the accreditation results on Saturday.

The principal of the college, Dr. K. Bhagya Lakshmi, said that the college got the NAAC ‘A’ grade with the efforts of the lecturers and staff and cooperation from the alumni and present students.
