HYDERABAD: Aswhika Dubey, Sarvesh Ramprasad and Hruday Kedia of Glendale Academy at Sun City, who were a part of the Hyderabad Annual Cybersecurity Knowledge - HACK Summit 2023 said that the event has helped them understand the importance of cybersafety and on how cybercriminals target innocent people using devious means.
Their teachers Sweta Dubey and Anitha Agarwal elaborated about how they had taken up cybersafety awareness in their institution.
Sarvesh said that he could now understand how to judiciously and pragmatically use ChatGPT chatbot. “Now that everything is being done through Artificial Intelligence, it was important for us to understand the pros and cons of ChatGPT,” Sarvesh told Deccan Chronicle during the event.
Dubey pointed out she never came in contact with the police in the past as she felt discomfort approaching them.
“Today, I feel comfortable approaching them. As a cyber-squad member, I can also help my friends and guide them in reaching out to the police in crisis situations,” she said.
Kedia said that they could understand better as industry experts dwelt about practical aspects and on how cybercrimes can affect everyone.
“The event also has so many take-aways, particularly with regard to use of social media, its benefits and the dangers,” he added.
The teachers said that they have a program called Glendale Heroes, where a few students are trained on cybersafety and other awareness programs. They in turn educate fellow-students.
“They act as first responders and as a bridge between the students, teachers and the police during emergencies,” they said.
Students from five city schools have been chosen for the Cyber Squad program, where they will be trained on cybercrimes, social media, bullying, among other things.
