Telangana Intermediate results declared, girls outshine boys

Education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy appealed to students who could not clear the exams not to panic or feel pressured

Hyderabad: As many as 62.58 per cent of the students who had taken the Intermediate exams for the first and second years, secured passing marks, as per the results announced by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on Tuesday.

The BIE said 9,48,153 students took the exams across both years at 1,473 centres, with 5,93,291 scoring pass marks.

The cut-off for the exams conducted from March 15 to April 4 is 35 per cent.
The BIE did not announce the names of rankers or even the top marks. It said 2,97,741 of 4,82,675 students who took the first-year exams passed, clocking 61.68 pass percentage. Of the second year, the figures stood at 2,95,550, 4,65,478 and 63.49 per cent respectively.

Girl students continued to perform better than their male counterparts, with 68.68 per cent of girls passing the first-year exams, much higher than the 54.66 per cent of boys who did. The trend continued in the second-year results too, with 71.57 per cent of girls and 55.6 per cent of boys clearing the exams.

Region-wise, Medchal topped the state in the first-year results, clocking a 75 per cent pass rate, followed by Ranga Reddy and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts, with respective pass percentages of 73.5 and 72.

Mulugu, with an 85 per cent pass rate, led the way in the second-year results, followed by Komaram Bheem Asifabad and Medchal, which recorded respective pass percentages of 81 and 75.

She also urged the students to take the results in good spirits and wished them the best for the Eamcet beginning on Wednesday.The Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary exam will be held from June 4, in two sessions.

The TeleMANAS helpline of psychologists and psychiatrists for counselling students will be available round-the-clock on a toll-free number of 1441.

Students can download colour version of the ‘Online Memorandum of Marks’ from the board’s portal.

Memorandum of marks will be available for downloading at https://tsbie.cgg.gov.in and https://results.cgg.gov.in.

In case of discrepancy in the mark sheet, students can reach the board through their respective principals or send an email at helpdesk-ie@telangana.gov.in within 10 days of the publication of results.

Recounting and re-verification

Candidates who wish to apply for recounting or re-verification, along with securing a scanned copy of the valued answer script, will have to pay an online sum of Rs. 100 per paper for recounting and Rs. 600 per paper for scanned copy-cum-re-verification of the answer book through the BIE website http://tsbie.cgg.gov.in

The fee for both processes can be paid from May 10 to May 16.

The Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary exam will be held from June 4 in two sessions and the fee for the same can be paid from May 10 to May 16 at the respective colleges.
