Labour minister Parameshwar Naik, who until last week denied he had anything to do with the sudden transfer of Ms Shenoy could not however resist showing off his power in front of his party workers and TV cameras.
“She put me on hold for 30 seconds, I got her transferred in less than a minute. This is my power!” the minister bragged. Did he want her transferred for her “impudence” or because she had taken on the sand mafia and plugged illegal activities in her jurisdiction?
Locals, who call Ms Shenoy a ‘Lady Singham’, had protested last week when they heard about her transfer.
