Warrant against Telangana Cheif Secreatry by NGT

The order was passed orally by the sitting bench.

Hyderabad: The National Green Tribunal, Chennai on January 27 had issued an arrest warrant (bailable) against TS Chief Secretary and GHMC Commissioner for violation of NGT status quo orders (not appearing before NGT).

The order was issued regarding land grabbing of parks in Rajendrareddy Nagar Colony, Chandanagar Serilingampally by a political leader, claimed petitioner Mr Thakur Rajkumar Singh member of Janamkosam Forum.

“The order was passed orally by the sitting bench. The NGT had three times earlier ordered both the TS Chief Secretary and GHMC commissioner to appear before the tribunal and present the case".

"However the duo failed all the times. On January 27 the NGT issued a bailable warrant against the two and the case has been posted to Feb. 15. In case the two do not appear in the next order serious action will be initiated,” added Mr Singh.

Rajendra Reddy Nagar colony, located in Chandanagar village of Serilingampally was developed on 19 acre 20 guntas, as per the draft layout from HUDA. The property consists of 227 plots of different sizes.

No permission can be given by GHMC for any kind of construction in the green area, parks and open spaces. In spite of this a few land grabbers created false documents and constructed buildings in the colony green area.

The GHMC staff have permitted construction in this green area. Despite several complaints to the GHMC on land grabbers who created fake plot numbers (the encroached land costs around Rs 20 crore,) no action has been taken, according to the petitioner.

Janamkosam approached NGT. The tribunal had asked both the Chief Secretary and GHMC Commissioner to appear before it. However, so far the duo have not represented the case.
