Scam! BBMP cleared bills of Congress MLAs' men: NR Ramesh

He alleged that BBMP Commissioner G. Kumar Naik, the Chief Accounts Officer and others have accepted their 'cuts' in return.

Bengaluru: Succumbing to pressure from four Congress MLAs, the BBMP released Rs 155 crore for various works between July 2015 and January in violation of the seniority rule, alleged former corporator N.R. Ramesh, here on Wednesday.

He alleged that BBMP Commissioner G. Kumar Naik, the Chief Accounts Officer and others have accepted their 'cuts' in return. “These contractors were eligible to get their money in 2018, but their bills have been cleared out-of-turn,” he said. MLAs from RR Nagar (Munirathna), KR Puram (Byrathi Basavaraj), Yeshwantpur (S.T. Somashekar) and Byatarayanapura (Krishna Byregowda) have pressured officials to favour their contractors,” he said.
