Hyderabad HC: Judiciary split process is on
Hyderabad: Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale of the Hyde-rabad High Court on Wednesday announced that the process for bifurcation of judiciary between AP and Telangana has commenced.
While commencing the final hearing on batch of petitions challenging the appointments of junior civil judges and senior civil judges pursuant to the notifications issued in 2014 and 2015 along with Just-ice S.V. Bhatt, he informed the counsels that the process was already on and the Registry has invited options from the employees and judicial officers working in the subordinate judiciary under the common High Court.
Senior Counsel Sarasani Satyam Reddy, one of the petitioners as a party in person, urged the court to cancel the earlier recruitment process and issue a fresh notification after notifying the vacancies fall in the share of Telangana as the earlier notification were issued in accordance with the AP judicial Service Rules which are no mo-re in force in TS since the adaptation of Telangana Service Rules.
When he pointed out that the High Court has recently issued notification for the recruitment of senior civil judges, the bench clarified that the notifications for identification of vacancies in both the states and after the identification of vacancies the recruitment will be held separately.
Justice Bhosale said the cancellation of entire recruitment process would have an adverse effect on more than 4,000 candidates who have prepared for the examinations and interviews.
The Acting Chief Justice made it clear that the High Court is not wasting a single minute in completing the bifurcation of the subordinate judiciary and the staff and officers of subordinate judiciary to file their options before the first week of February 2016.
K. Ramakrishna Reddy, advocate general of Telangana, while opposing the ongoing recruitment process of junior civil judges and senior civil judges, made it clear that the vacancies which fall in the state of Telangana shall be filled up in accordance with the Telangana Judicial Service Rules.
Mr Satyam Reddy took exception on appearance of Mr P.V. Venugopal, advocate general of AP, in the capacity of the standing counsel of the High Court in this case, contending that the AP government is also one of the parties to the present case and appearance of A-G of AP on behalf of the High Court is not proper. The bench adjourned the hearing to next week.
AP government told not to disturb Vidya Mitras
Justice P. Naveen Rao of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the AP government not to disturb the petitioners who are wor-king with NTR Vydya Seva as Vaidya Mitra (earlier known as Arog-ya Mitras) and also not to take any coercive steps against them until further orders.
The judge was dealing with a plea by O. Sudh-akar Reddy and 8 others who are working as Arogya Mitras since the year 2008 challenging a GO issued on January 20, 2016, to recruit fresh set of Arogya Mitras and team leaders for the purpose of Dr NTR Vidaya Seva.
While ordering the go-vernment not to disturb the petitioners, the jud-ge adjourned the hearing to February 8 for filing counter in the case.
