Chief Minister invites NRIs to adopt Andhra villages

Tirupati: Commending the role of Telugu people settled in countries abroad for their interest in protecting their culture and tradition, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the Non-Resident Indians to adopt villages in Andhra Pradesh and develop them as smart villages.

He was addressing a host of NRIs after inaugurating the AP Non-Resident Telugu Corporation website (www.apnrt.com) at a hotel in Tirupati on Wednesday.

NRT is a government of Andhra Pradesh initiative to unite the Telugu diaspora worldwide and to provide them the right platform to engage with their motherland in ways and means which are symbiotic in nature.

The Chief Minister promised that the government would react to any issue pertaining to NRIsimmediately.

He expressed confidence in developing the state as one of the top performing ones in the country by 2029 and most developed state at the international level by 2050.

He appealed to the NRIs across the globe to check the status of their native village and the school they studied and put their efforts to give a facelift to them.

He said that they intend to use technology to achieve development which usually takes up to 20 years, within five years.

Some of the NRIs gave power point presentations to the Chief Minister in their laptops on their action plan to develop their villages on the occasion.

Later, taking part in the valedictory function of Nandi Natakotsvam, the CM distributed prizes to the winners in the drama competitions.
