A world-class Hyderabad is the goal: ESL Narasimhan

He asserted that all major irrigation projects across Krishna and Godavari rivers will be redesigned.

Hyderabad: Promising that his government will strive to develop Hyderabad as a world-class city with urban infrastructure of global standards, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Tuesday asserted that all major irrigation projects across Krishna and Godavari rivers will be redesigned to harness water for drinking, irrigation and industry purposes.

Mr Narasimhan also said second phase of T-hub with an investment of Rs 150 crore and built up area of 3 lakh sq. ft. will be rolled out by the year-end. The government plans to spend Rs 25,000 crore annually on the irrigation sector and 34 major and medium irrigation projects with an outlay of Rs 1,31,988 crore have been taken up, he said.

Addressing the 67th Republic Day celebrations, the Governor asked the youth to involve in the development process. He said the government has identified and prioritised the needs of people and has launched several flagship programmes like Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha, 2BHK houses etc. Mr Narasimhan said the ITIR in and around Hyderabad is geared to generate IT exports of Rs 2,35,000 crore.
