Visakhapatnam: Rehearsals for IFR will begin from Tuesday on the beach road with ships, submarines, marine commandos and other navy personnel participating in the exercise that will go on till February 4. Indian Navy had requested the residents of the beach road and viewers to keep the area litter-free from the day the rehearsals begin till the main event ends on February 8. They have asked people not to drop food items because it attracts birds that pose a threat to the aircraft.
Coinciding with the Republic Day, the Indian Navy ships that are anchored at RK Beach will be dressed with flags during the day and illuminated at night. Aircraft would be flying over the beach during the rehearsals and during IFR. On January 27, 28 and 29, the rehearsals of the operations will be held from 5.30 pm to 6pm. On January 31, from 9:30 am to 11:15 am, fleet review at sea close to the RK Beach will be rehearsed. Again on February 2, the fleet review will be rehearsed. On February 3, the trial of the proposed international city parade, will take place.
