Hyderabad: UoH students ensured that the ‘Chalo HCU’ event held on Monday did not turn chaotic. The students set up committees for crowd management, food, parking, entry, information desk, stage management and for managing the crowd and entry/exit points near the podium for speakers.

21 committee members were involved in ensuring that the event went on smoothly and around 200 volunteers worked under them.

As many people from various parts of the city and the country were expected to come to the university to take part in Chalo HCU, 5,000 packets of food and water were kept ready for free distribution and around 2,000 were distributed. The students said the rest was given to an NGO.

In the evening the students also arranged three barrels of lemon juice for visitors. The information desk was manned by volunteers to provide information and press releases from the JAC for Social Justice.

Students also ensured that no one damaged UoH property while holding the rally inside the university by arranging a human chain of volunteers. In the parking the students provided space for around 300 vehicles.
