Modi after being elected as Prime Minister for the first time to visit Kovai which has boosted morale of the BJP party cadres.

Coimbatore: Narendra Modi’s possible visit to Coimbatore on February 2, for the first time after being elected as the Prime Minister, has boosted the morale of the BJP party cadres here.

Prime Minister Modi is likely to inaugurate the ESI Hospital, built at a cost of Rs 580 crores in Singanallur and also address a public meeting.The venue of the meet is yet to be decided.

It could either be VOC Park Grounds or Codissia, a BJP functionary said.

"The PM’s visit will boost the confidence of party cadres and is perceived to increase the chances of the party’s victory for the assembly elections in Coimbatore, which is considered to be a bastion of BJP.

Even in the Lok Sabha Polls, we lost by a mere 35,000 votes to AIADMK,” said S Mahendran, former district general secretary (Kissan Morcha).

Party men observe that Modi's visit may help BJP to connect with industrialists in Coimbatore.

“As utmost importance to ‘Make in India’ concept, Modi will definitely meet industrialists and take efforts to revive the industrial sector in Coimbatore,” he added. With the arrival of Modi, the rank and file of BJP will be here to
make his visit a grand success.

Some senior functionaries like the party's state president, Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and National General Secretary, Muralidhar Rao are expected to participate in the meet.
