TRS playing mind games, planting stories: Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana State Telugu Desam working president and MLA A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday accused the TRS of planting stories in the media that a large number of TD leaders, including legislators, were going to join the ruling party. He said that these reports were baseless.
Addressing reporters at the NTR Trust Bhavan here, Mr Reddy said that the TRS was trying to win the GHMC elections by spreading all kinds of rumours.
“We have definite information that very soon, irrigation minister T. Harish Rao will be joining the Congress as he is unable to bear the humiliation in TRS on account of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao projecting and promoting his son K.T. Rama Rao,” Mr Reddy said.
He said that the government was planting “leaks” to the media on MMTS connection to Yadadri temple, and construction of four-lane bridge across Durgam Cheruvu etc, only to garner votes.
“This amounts to misuse of official machinery and abuse of the election process. The State Election Commission must take note of it and consider all related news stories as paid articles,” Mr Reddy demanded.
He said that the TRS was getting large amounts of black money for distribution to voters from an irrigation contractor who has been awarded several contracts both in irrigation and Mission Bhagiratha projects.
Meanwhile, Serilingampally TD MLA Arikepudi Gandhi denied reports about his defection to the TRS saying, “I will not leave the TD till my last breath.”
